How to Unlock the Highwaymen and Master- Mode in XDefiant Season 2. In Season 2 of XDefiant, players are introduced to the Highwaymen, a thrilling new faction that brings a bold edge to the game. Originating from Far Cry: New Dawn, this gang is helmed by the dynamic duo Mickey and Lou, infamous for their ruthless ambitions in the ravaged landscapes of Hope County. With their striking punk-rock aesthetic, the Highwaymen aren’t just about looks—they come equipped with unique abilities that promise to shake up gameplay dynamics.
Armed with versatile mobile turrets and devastating saw launchers, the Highwaymen are masters of area control in objective-based matches. Their special skills also amplify their combat prowess, boosting rate of fire and reload speed when they achieve killstreaks. However, like other factions in XDefiant, gaining access to the Highwaymen requires a substantial commitment.
Unlocking the Highwaymen:
To unlock the Highwaymen, start by launching XDefiant and heading to the Factions menu. Once there, select the Highwaymen, and you’ll find an option to complete a Major Challenge for access. This will guide you to the Challenges section, where your journey begins.
Brace yourself for a bit of grinding: you’ll need to accumulate a hefty 700,000 experience points to unlock this fierce faction. This requirement is in line with previous additions like DedSec and GSK, setting a precedent for the grind ahead.
Maximizing Your XP Gains: How to Unlock the Highwaymen and Master Mode in XDefiant Season 2
The simplest way to rack up experience points in XDefiant is by jumping into matches. Completing a game rewards you with 5,000 XP, and if you clinch a victory, you’ll earn an extra 1,000 XP. Keep an eye on daily challenges as well—they can offer up to 10,000 XP each, making them a quick route to unlocking new characters.
For those eager to skip the grind, Ubisoft provides a paid option: you can unlock one Highwayman character for 1,000 XCoins, or go all-in and secure all three for 2,500 XCoins.
The Exciting New Mode in XDefiant:
As Season 2 launches, XDefiant is packed with new features, including fresh factions, maps, and game modes. Among the most awaited is the mode, which channels the spirit of classic game types like Search and Destroy from the Call of Duty series.
How Mode Works:
In mode, teams alternate roles as attackers and defenders. The attacking team must plant a at one of two specified sites, aiming for a successful detonation or the complete elimination of the opposing squad to secure a round win. Meanwhile, the defending team must either defuse or prevent it from being planted by taking out the attackers.
This mode is designed around a single-life mechanic, where teams switch sides after each round. The first team to win six rounds emerges victorious!
One strategic element to keep in mind: if your character’s Ultra meter fills up, you won’t be able to switch factions to use another faction’s Ultra ability. Attempting to do so will reset the meter, so choose your faction carefully at the start of each match.
mode is set to launch in casual playlists with the start of Season 2 on September 25, 2024. Based on player feedback, it may later evolve into a Ranked mode.
With the Highwaymen and mode on the horizon, XDefiant promises an exhilarating season filled with fresh gameplay and new challenges! Get ready to dive in and experience the action!
